Description
You will get a complete SQL Server database health check identifying areas that may be improved. This will focus on the database workload, queries ran, and index usage. This is an exploratory analysis of the current state of the database. In this work, I may be able to identify some quick recommendations to improve performance and save on infrastructure costs.

Understand the database’s role
I will review with you the context of the database and determine areas to focus on. This will include a brief review of the hardware the server is hosted on. In this initial phase, I will do discovery in the areas of storage and security.
Review expensive queries
I will review the server metrics to understand the most expensive queries and procedures.
Review index usage, and gaps.
I will focus on reviewing the indexes that exist, their usage metrics, and identify any opportunities for improvement.
Provide findings and answer questions
I will provide a preliminary findings report identifying areas to focus on, prioritized action items, and any recommendations identified. At this time I will request feedback and answer questions that may exist.
